The Power of Social Gamification
Engaging Employees Through Game Elements
Overview
Hosts Mark Booker and Will Meinen from GoodGames showcased different ways to utilize the GoodGames platform and its many game-like tools to improve training, brainstorming and strategic planning sessions, and surveys.
In a quick, fun, and highly interactive workshop, participants were given issues from the fictional company Dunder Mifflin from NBC’s The Office. We slowly improved their customer service training, brainstormed ideas for how to compete in a changing paper market, and even held a survey for how it all went.
Highlights
- Identified ineffective training approaches and how to improve them using a gamified methodology and tools.
- Walked through time consuming brainstorming process and how to make them more efficient to get to the right conversation faster.
- Introduced a Mix Method approach to surveying that combines the quantitative survey approach with the qualitative focus group approach.
